While writing the story of Ni-Kun, we wanted to use Japanese terms to emphasize the meaning of each character, so to help you along with the story, we have provided a pronounciation guide as to how each name is to be properly spoken.

Akari:  Uh-care-eey, meaning “Light”

Furi: Foo-ri (rhyms with knee), meaning “Free”

Futeki: Foo-teck-ee, meaning “Bold”

Hayai: Hi-yah-ii, meaning “Swift”

Kaimei: Kai (rhyms with pie)-may, meaning “Darkness”

Kashikoi: Kah-shee-coy, meaning “Wise”

Kyousou: Key-yoh-soo, meaning “Strong”

Ni-Kun:  Knee-kun, meaning “Two Masters”

Shoukai: Show-ooh-kai (rhyms with pie), meaning “Firm”

Subayai: Soo-buh-yah-ii, meaning “Agile”
